G1’s battery life has been a point of discussion ever since masses started using it. Battery life is not that great and G1 applications consume the battery swiftly.
If you are a G1 user and suffering from same problem, here are some tips that would help you.
· If you are in an area where there is no 3G converge, turn off 3G.
· Apply initial conditioning to battery when you get your G1 for first time. Do some deep cycling with your battery (let the battery to deplete to the point of death). Continue to turn-on your phone until it can’t be turned on anymore. Now charge the battery overnight. (Follow this practice once in every 1-2 months to ensure calibration)
· WiFi consumes a lot of battery charging so turn the WiFi off when you are not using it.
· Decrease the brightness of your phone (adjust it to 50%, it still works very good and bright at this setting)
· If you don’t update your contacts very often, turn off the Autosync. As Autosync is always looking for updated things so it drains battery quickly.
· Close applications when you are not using them. (You can use Task Switcher to view all the running tasks)
